I checked and tickets are still left for Ardent’s first beer dinner — on the premises of the brewery — tonight, May 4, at 6 p.m. It’s in celebration of Cinco de Mayo — but is more accurately named Cuatro de Mayo.
And the weather forecast seems to be leaning in the event’s favor, wouldn’t you say?
Ardent has a mean line-up of beer, including two casks specially brewed for the dinner, but there’s more to the story of this particular beer dinner.
The menu looks killer. Three-time James Beard award nominee Lee Gregory and Joe Sparrata, chef/owners of Southbound will be on hand to turn out things like octopus salad, pupusas filled with lamb chorizo and topped with apple and fennel curtido, Autumn Olive Farm’s pork served with corn tortillas and Southbound’s hot sauces, plus an additional two courses and snacks to start.
And the more exotic beer served will include Touchstone wheat pale ale infused with kumquats, coriander and smoked sea salt, a barrel-aged honey ginger and a dark rye infused with Mexican spice and coconut.
The ticket price is $70 and includes both the meal tax and gratuity (so no awkward math to do at the end of the night). Follow this link for more details and to purchase tickets.
